• Extra huge shout-outs of gratitude and love to some Monthly contributors who didn't even wait for this update to make their monthly contribution. Don't spoil me! (OK, spoil me.) And thank you.

• Amit's mother -- "Mama" to him and me, "Grandmama" to the kids --
is still in town, in the family's room, in Delhi, with her nephew/son/caregiver (who does not otherwise work).
Dental work. Which just means extra financial pressure from all sides including, of course, the added expense of "two more mouths to feed" and a total of 7 in the room/household, and never-ending snarkiness and demands for more money from the landlady. I can't even with that whole situation and more to come about it in the coming months.
• I (apparently) lied about having some recipes to share from January's Zoom call. The project is still alive, though. I can attest to that!

• Although Dhruv is back in college, attending classes six of seven days each week (that's true of all 3 kids), I still haven't gotten a straight answer about what, exactly, tuition costs are each month. So, this month, I sent what we've been sending when he was being an intern and looking for a job. No alarms have gone off.
• Now that Anushka is settling in to her new school environment and routine, the Art Course idea is re-emerging because it looks like she'll have the time, first and foremost. Beyond that, as far as I'm concerned, it seems crazy that her skills and abilities are not being guided and developed, not to mention the massive income-earning potential that would come with such a course. The cost would be about $30/month. For now, please just consider it as I'm wary to commit to it just yet because we're not exactly swimming in extra dollars right now. Maybe someone would commit to that particular expense for a period of time? I'm open. But the idea isn't fading and I'd love to make something happen with that sooner than later.
Birthdays are celebrated with sharing cake via video calls...and it was my turn. Pretty strong evidence that Amit purchased this cake by himself.

Haven't yet gotten a straight answer about Jeetu's seizure
Jeetu turned 13 this month. The baby is a teenager
Dhruv has re-registered for college; start date TBD
I will have recipes to share (from January's Zoom call) soon
It took a minute, but monthly expenses for Anushka & Jeetu are, more or less, locked in...and shown here. This equals just about $200 even. (This does not include WiFi + phone.)
AND...now that Dhruv has re-registered for college, we shall see what his monthly expenses will be for tuition and transportation.

HERE'S SOME MATH, FYI
(A reminder for reference and, fun fact, it hasn't changed since we began!)
• after fees, $15 becomes $14.26...into my bank account
• $14.26 x 15 contributors* = $213.90
• after fees, $213.90 becomes about 17,000 INR (Indian rupees)
• exchange rates change, of course, but this has been quite consistent
• one K-12 tutor is about 1,200 INR/month
• tuition at Dhruv's trade school is about 1,000 INR/month
• transportation + food for Dhruv is about 200-300 INR/day or 6-7,000/month
• annual fees -- paid in March -- for A & J is about 30,000-35,000 INR/year
